The place of their cage in your home is very important. You need to find the right spot for your tiny friend to make sure that they will live comfortably and safe in your house. For sanitary reasons, keeping a best guinea pig cage near the kitchen is the very thing you should avoid. Aside from the spot, there are also other factors that you need to consider to determine when finding the right spot for their cage:

Temperature

Animals don’t like it when the environment is too cold or too warm because humid can make them become ill. It is important that you keep your guinea pig cage away from extreme temperatures. The ideal temperature for a guinea pig cage is about 65-75℉ (18-24℃). An elevated surface and far from drafty places like door and windows is the ideal place for your guinea pig cage.

Noise

Guinea pigs have very sensitive hearing and they hate it when the place is too noisy. Avoid putting your guinea pig cage in places next to stereos, television, speakers or other places with loud noises. Too much noise can stress them so keep them in a place where there is a very minimal noise.

Activity

Guinea pigs are great entertainer and they like it when all family members give them attention. Guinea pigs enjoy it when they are near family activity and they benefit when they are easy to see and clear. A living room or a family room will work well for them just make sure that they have a place to retreat once they need a quiet time for themselves.

Keep a guinea pig water bottle within their reach

Like any other living things, guinea pigs needs to be properly hydrated at all times and since they are very active, it is important that you put a guinea pig water bottle in their cage so that they can drink water whenever they want. You also need to make sure that you always refill the water bottle before leaving the house because they need to drink a lot of water during the day. Select a cage with built-in guinea pig water bottle or better yet get a bigger one so you don’t always have to refill it every now and then. Remember to always provide food and water for your pet so they can be with your family for a long time.
